Matt Hebert

Born in Louisiana and raised in Kentucky, Matt is a 3rd generation horseman with jockeys and trainers on both sides of his family. Along with plenty of pony riding as a kid, Matt received the hard-knock part of his education caring for and starting young horses for his father. After learning the basics Matt went to work on the racetrack as a groom, foreman, exercise rider, and assistant. His good horsemanship paid off when he became the exclusive caretaker of repeat Breeders’ Cup winner and two-time Eclipse Award winner Groupie Doll. The partnership allowed him to travel and experience the best racetracks in the country. Matt was also privileged to gallop and work with multimillionaire Brass Hat. In addition to the top-class experience with Groupie Doll and Brass Hat, Matt managed his own string of claimers and allowance level horses for trainer Buff Bradley.

While attending Murrey State and The University of Kentucky Matt realized that his passion for horses and horse racing made it impossible to pursue anything else and he currently devotes all his time and energy toward maintaining a top-class stable.  

First hand knowledge of the building blocks of horse training and having done each job along the way to becoming a trainer gives Matt priceless insight. His keys to success are a positive attitude, a teamwork based stable and always putting the horse first. 

Located primarily in central Kentucky and racing at all surrounding tracks.
