Windhorse Thoroughbreds

Time sure flies when you're having fun! I am amazed, as my husband John and I just marked our fifth year living on our beautiful Cotton Hill Farm and now in 2015 are excited to be celebrating my tenth year in the thoroughbred world.

I started out as a small breeder in 2006 and purchased Cotton Hill Farm in 2009, which I continue to develop and improve to make it the best place to raise New York bred thoroughbreds. I am now a mid-size breeder and sell at public auction and in private sales. I race some of our homebreds and also now manage fun, affordable and successful breeding partnerships. I am very proud to say my first two racing partnerships both produced stakes winners in Mischief Maker and Chasing Bubbles. I am excited to see what our new partnerships will do in the future.

Over the last few years, I was fortunate to receive the guidance and training of the experts at Gallagher’s Stud, Inc. in Ghent, New York where the Windhorse Mares and their offspring have lived and received the best of care and attention. Marlene Brody, owner, and Mallory Mort, farm manager, have generously shared their expertise and experience in allowing me to get hands on experience in the breeding business. Anne Jardine, office manager, and Bert and Stephanie Poucher, also of Gallagher’s, have been equally generous with their time and efforts in guiding my training in the business operation and care of thoroughbred horses of all ages. I am so grateful for their generosity and friendship.

Windhorse Thoroughbreds has moved to our new Cotton Hill Farm in Middleburgh, New York. We will keep you up to date on developments and changes as we move along. John and I, along with our three soon-to-be barn cats, are living at Cotton Hill Farm to expedite the necessary improvements and be with our horses everyday.
