About Us:

Poplar Creek is an 80 acre full service facility, located on the eastside of Cincinnati, Ohio near the small town of Bethel. A quiet farm bordering the beautiful 10,000 acre East Fork State Park. Poplar Creek Horse Center llc is owned and operated by Robin Murphy who has managed a full service horse facility for over 25 years. Robin is hands on in the day-to-day operations of every horse in the care of Poplar Creek. Each horse is closely and professionally cared for with special attention to each individual's needs.

Our 16'x16' foaling stalls are equipped with cameras via the internet. Our barren mares are stabled under automatic timers to control the lights of individual stalls. Other features of Poplar Creek include 70 stalls, a large indoor arena, indoor roundpen, indoor wash basins with hot/cold water, heated and a/c rooms for the comfort all year for daily visitors. Our pastures are complete with black board fence. Foaling mares, year round boarding and lay-ups are available services. To start young horses for the race track or those in need of reconditioning after a lay-up, Poplar Creek is proud of their half mile dirt race track with updated safety rails and a 4 horse starting gate. A popular spot on the farm is the Poplar Creek Bed & Breakfast, available for anyone who desires a longer visit.

As the race program grows in Ohio, we have been very fortunate to have a lineup of very nice stallions, all are Graded Stakes Winners and/or possess high quality, top bloodlines. A.P. Indy, Capote, Distorted Humor, Halo, Harlan's Holiday, Medaglia d'Oro, Mr Prospector, Storm Cat are some of the sires of our stallions. Graded Stakes Winners or Placers of such races as the Santa Anita Derby G1, Toyota Blue Grass Stakes G1, Hollywood Derby G1T, Belmont Futurity G2, Clark Handicap G2, Gulfstream Park Handicap G2, Saratoga Special Breeders Cup G2, Hawthorn Gold Cup G2, Arlington Classic G3. Along with the pedigree and proven race records, all these individuals have an outstanding disposition and impressive appearance.

Projections suggest that new VLT revenue alone could reach $125,000,000 per facility with revenue sharing of 80% of some number between 9% and 11%. We could see $40,000,000 - $45,000,000 per year in overnight/State Bred Thoroughbred funding in a very short period of time. Each of our stallions at Poplar Creek are registered into the Ohio Stallion Program, giving the resulting foal a chance to become part of this exciting venture.

We welcome you to give us a call anytime, for stallions inspections, to book your mare or just visit our farm
