Welcome From John C. Harris
My family and I have been in the California Thoroughbred business for over 40 years here in beautiful Coalinga, California. We have devoted several hundred acres of prime California farm land in the fertile San Joaquin Valley to Thoroughbred operations.
The farm has been split into two distinct ranches; 350 acres in Coalinga, forms the main ranch with the remaining 140 acres, located east of Sanger, California, along the Kings River specializing in young developing horses and long term lay-ups.
We are here to meet all of your racing and breeding needs. We believe that we have the best Thoroughbred facilities in the nation and one of the oldest continuously operated facilities in the state. We have produced winners of 4 Eclipse Awards, 6 California Horses of the Year, 30 California champions and divisional leaders, including Breeders’ Cup winner Tiznow and Thor’s Echo, as well as Soviet Problem who placed by a nose in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint in 1994.
Harris Farms stands seven stallions including perennial California leading sires Unusual Heat and Lucky Pulpit as well as Tizbud, Tiznow’s full brother and also a very promising sire. Young stallions Heatseeker, Desert Code, Lucky J.H. and Thorn Song, all doing well both in the sales ring an on the tracks.
Browse our web site at www.harrisfarms.com and you will be impressed with the depth of our facilities. We offer breeding, breaking, training and lay-up services that are unmatched in the country.
Feel free to make an appointment to visit the farm anytime. We have a very popular restaurant and Inn. Harris Ranch located only a few miles away, should you like to stay over. We have a very outstanding group of managers, veterinarians and staff to show you around. And I think that you will be as enthusiastic as I am. Our record speaks for itself.
Sincerely:
