Biography:
Steve Koch joined the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' & Owners' Association (FTBOA) in 2022. He oversees association operations; is a key liaison for the Florida racetracks and horsemen; engages advanced analytics to reinforce policy, government action, editorial content and incentive programs design; and drives technology innovations enhancing services to Florida breeders.
Koch has considerable racetrack experience, having prior served as a Sr. V.P. at The Stronach Group and as Vice President of Racing at Woodbine Racetrack.
Steve also has worked for the National Thoroughbred Racing Association as Executive Director of the NTRA Safety & Integrity Alliance. The S&I Alliance set the foundation for today's Horseracing Integrity & Safety Authority (HISA) federal racetrack safety regulations. To date, Koch continues this outreach through participation on HISA racetrack accreditation and safety reviews.
Koch's early career began at the Keeneland Association and he was raised as a horseman at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Kentucky.
Steve participates on various industry boards, such as the Racing Surfaces Testing Laboratory and the U. of Kentucky College of Agriculture Dean’s Equine Advisory Committee.
