Owner Bio

Peter Lawson has been a thoroughbred owner and breeder since 1999. He races horses in Florida, Kentucky, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and California, as well as South Africa and the Caribbean. In 2022, Lawson Racing Stables was co-leading owner at the Gulfstream Park Sunshine meet. Peter's passion for thoroughbred racing started when he was an 11 year old schoolboy in Jamaica and began analyzing and handicapping races. As the years progressed he started to acquire horses and became a regular buyer at sales in the US, South Africa and Jamaica. Peter is an ardent supporter of horsemen, has served on the racing executive in South Africa and Jamaica, and currently serves on the board of the Florida Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association. Professionally, he has lived and worked in the US, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Australia.
