Pamela and Stephen Cappy, of Bend, Oregon started Red Cap Thoroughbreds, LLC in 2013. Red Cap races in California and breeds in both Kentucky and California. Our goal is to grow the business in both of these areas with new partners who presently are owners or those looking to own, with those who share the same enthusiasm and love of the industry. Our goal is to purchase and breed potential graded stakes winners. We are not in the claiming game and have no plans to do so. We are also in the breeding end of the business. Steve has been involved in the thoroughbred racing for 40 years and has previous ownership experience in New York and Florida. Steve is a retired executive. Pam has been involved for four years and co-manages the business. Her previouos profession was a paralegal.
Red Cap and partners utilize the experience and knowledge of Mr. Bob Baedeker ( Mr. B ) and his partner Nelson Mead. Mr. B and the Red Cap team, including Laura Ross of Iron Maiden Thoroughbreds, team up with our trainers Bob Baffert and Jerry Hollendorfer and as a result we have built a stable of young horses with unlimited potential.
