Owner Bio

I am a retired physician executive who has been interested in thoroughbreds and racing since exposed to racing by an avid fan, my Great Uncle, over 60 years ago. Once my children were educated and professionally established, I thought it time to pursue my longstanding dream of ownership. Not having the means or expertise to own horses on my own, I reviewed several syndicate/partnership opportunities, interviewed potential principals, and did reference checks before I decided upon a partnership to enter, I decided to participate through West Point Thoroughbreds in October 2012. My wife and I also decided not be to "passive investors", so we have traveled to auctions with the buying team, traveled to farms where our yearlings are broken and prepared to race, and then to various race tracks to see both the backside work/activity as well as participating in race day activities. There is nothing like seeing your horse approaching the finish line ahead of the field and then posing for a picture in the winner's circle! Since moving to the West Coast in 2019, I have moved my "allegiance" to Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and have been very pleased with both the service as well as the results!
