Types of Sales
The O’Callaghan family tradition of superior consignment success has been passed from Gay O’Callaghan to his son Peter. Peter has been extremely successful as a consignor in North America at both Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton sales. In the fall of 2002, Woods Edge Farm consigned top-notch yearlings at two of the most important yearling sales in the Thoroughbred industry. At the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale, Woods Edge sold every yearling it offered, with an average price of $52,150, four times the sale average, and we both raised and consigned the sales topper ($140,000). At the world's largest yearling sale, Keeneland September, Woods Edge Farm averaged $84,000, offering impressive individuals and pedigrees that fetched as much as $300,000. As well, we foaled, raised and prepared for sale a yearling which was hammered down for $1,400,000.
