ARTHUR “ARCHIE” ST. GEORGE

A native of County Kilkenny, Ireland, “Archie” St. George has worked around horses his entire life. A fifth generation horseman, Archie’s family bred National Hunt horses and Archie rode in jump races and point-to-point races as a young man.

Ten years ago, following his graduation from Cirencester College in England with a degree in Rural Estate Management, Archie moved to the United States to take a job with Eaton Sales in Lexington, Kentucky. In his 10 years at Eaton, Archie was involved in every aspect of the Eaton operation. His first jobs were as a farm hand and showman, but he quickly moved up the ranks to become Eaton’s Farm Yearling Manager, and eventually a partner. Among the top horses that Eaton sold in those years were Horse of the Year CURLIN and Grade 1 winner HARD SPUN.

In 2011, Archie decided to form his own company, St. George Sales. Archie and his wife Michelle operate Brookstone Farm – on a portion of the world famous Overbrook Farm – where Michelle is Farm Manager. They reside in Lexington, Kentucky.
