Dromoland Farm was established by Gerry Dilger. Gerry is an Irish native, from County Clare in the west of Ireland and has resided in Kentucky for over 30 years. With the support of his wife, Erin and family, he has built a successful horse farm and business. Gerry completed the Irish National Stud course in 1977. After working in Ireland, he traveled to Kentucky, and began his career as a stallion manager and then farm manager.
Gerry decided to establish Dromoland Farm Inc. in 1994, with the support and commitment of several long-time clients such as Peter E. Blum, Michael J. Ryan, John Ryan, Barouche Stud, and Nesco II Ltd. Gerry is well known throughout the horse industry for his honesty and integrity. He is a knowledgeable horseman with a very good eye for a horse. He has established himself as a successful breeder. In partnership he bred two Grade I Juvenile Winners in Two Days at Saratoga in 2009, Hot Dixie Chick and Dublin.
Pinhooking weanlings is Gerry's talent and passion. He seeks out weanlings to purchase at the breeding stock sales and offers them for sale at the next year's yearling sales. Using his knowledge and foresight he develops these foals, using a proper nutrition, exercise and grooming program, into superb athletic individuals. Gerry is supported by a dedicated team on the farm, which is led by Peter Conway, farm manager. Peter, a BAgSc graduate of University College Dublin, enhanced his education at Pin Oak and Derrinstown Studs, before joining the team at Dromoland Farm.
