Keeneland will catalog 13 broodmares and two broodmare prospects for the dispersal of Stuart S. Janney III. The horses will be consigned by Claiborne Farm.

The awards will be presented in 17 categories and will be televised live on FanDuel TV, Racetrack Television Network, and streamed on multiple outlets. Tickets go on sale Nov. 18.

Big Brown is the fifth Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner to be retired to Old Friends. Old Friends will be hosting Big Brown's Barn Bash Oct. 18. There will be a lot of fun activities and a chance to meet the guest of honor, Big Brown.

The Fasig-Tipton November Sale catalog contains 70 graded stakes winners or producers, 24 of which are grade 1. Some of the broodmare prospects include Red Carpet Ready, Power Squeeze, Leave No Trace, War Like Goddess, and Adare Manor.

The youngest of six children born to Brutus Junius Clay and Agnes McEvoy Clay, Catesby Clay took over running the farm from his grandfather in the 1950s. During this time, Catesby Clay emphasized breeding, building from a small broodmare band.

Straight No Chaser returned with a vengeance Sept. 29, cruising to a scintillating victory in the Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park.

Three-year-old Sugar Fish, an impressive winner of the Summertime Oaks against her own age group, defeated her elders in the Zenyatta.

Roscar, Saccharine, and Side Street gave Chiefswood Stables a homebred podium finish in the $400,000 Breeders' Stakes, the final jewel in the Canadian Triple Crown, Sept. 29 at Woodbine.

The inaugural California Crown event Sept. 28 appears to have been a success as Santa Anita Park hosted its second largest crowd of 2024 and saw increases in handle.

Ways and Means delivered with her four-length victory in the $242,500 Gallant Bloom Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct Racetrack Sept. 29. Off the victory, the Klaravich Stables' homebred heads to the Nov. 2 Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1).

Subsanador was bright and alert the morning after his thrilling win in the $1 million California Crown (G1) at Santa Anita Park Sept. 28.

Despite scratching from the Ack Ack Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs with a foot injury, trainer Brad Cox is hopeful that grade 1 winner Saudi Crown will still be able to make a start in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) at Del Mar Nov. 2.

Canterbury Park concluded its 30th season of horse racing Sept. 28 showing gains in handle and average field size, categories that were emphasized prior to the start of the race meet.

The local favorites and Hong Kong invaders all failed in the Sprinters Stakes (G1) Sept. 29, leaving it to long shot Lugal to score the upset win.

The Miss Grillo offers a "Win and You're In" berth to the grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf Nov. 1 at Del Mar. 

Hit Show was all heart over the sloppy track at Churchill Downs Sept. 28, running down a game Cooke Creek to win the $500,000 Lukas Classic Stakes (G2).

Two exciting finishes on the turf enlivened California Crown Day Sept 28 at Santa Anita as Johannes won the City of Hope Mile Stakes (G2T), and First Peace won the California Crown Eddie D. Stakes (G2T).

The Bob Baffert runners came to play, but it was Subsanador (ARG), trained by Richard Mandella, who emerged victorious in a thrilling inauguration of the $1 million California Crown Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita Park Sept. 28.
